Zach and Beth are believable, every day people who are attempting to go on with their lives the best that they can, despite some devastating circumstances they’ve each had to deal with in the past. Beth has had trouble connecting with men, because of her role as a mother of a severely autistic son. She’s always put Kyle first. And Zach, who is really good looking, used to be a ladies’ man, but has never really had a lasting relationship with a woman. When he comes home from Iraq, he’s scarred and insecure, thinking that no woman would want him because of his physical disfigurement, so this makes him hide away from Beth.
This is a touching and emotional story, that remains upbeat because of the author’s skillful use of humor at just the right moments. Two Hearts Unspoken is a quick read with an original plot, and a very well written novella.

The story TWO HEARTS UNSPOKEN (Two Hearts Wounded Warrior Romance Book 2) by Tamera Ferguson is a romantic military fiction book. This is a wonderful addition to the Two Hearts series. This is the story of Beth Bowen and Zach Logan. Beth is moving to Wisconsin after the plant she works at in Illinois closes. Not only is she offered a job, there is also a facility that her special needs son has been accepted to. Zach is recovering and building a new life for himself outside the Air Force. When he meets Beth he feels a connection that is like no other he has ever felt. Will Beth and Zach act on their newfound feelings or will Zach’s insecurities put an end to any chance of a relationship?
This is an amazing addition to the Two Hearts series. I loved the first book and the second had me from the first chapter. The story and the characters are so engaging that I found myself wishing the story was longer. It stayed in my mind after I read. Beth and Zach are amazing characters. Beth has not had a lot of success in relationships. She has not found the man that will love her and her son unconditionally. So leaving her last relationship behind she comes to Dragonfly Pointe. This is where she meets Zach. The chemistry between these two is intense from the beginning. Even so, she feels that Zach is holding back and she is confused by his actions. Will she discover why Zach is keeping her at arms-length?
Zach is a man that is trying to heal. He has come to Dragonfly Pointe at the invitation of a friend and has decided to stay. When he meets Beth for the first time he is smitten. However, Zach is also a man that is insecure because of injuries that he has sustained. He is very self-conscience and doesn’t believe that any woman would want him. He does have a connection to Beth’s son which makes him a special person in her eyes. Can Zach overcome his self-doubt and take a chance on love?
This book had me laughing at the happy times and crying at the sentimental times. It gave me that warm feeling that you get when reading a story that touches your heart. It is told from the POV of both Zach and Beth. Highly recommended for anyone who loves romance stories. Find out if Beth and Zach get their HEA. There are adult situations so it would be suggested for a mature audience.

This is a second book in the Two Hearts Wounded Warrior series and follows on from Luke and Kelly's story. Zach was badly burnt in the same explosion that injured Luke, and at Luke's suggestion has found refuge in Crystal Rock, where he has become involved in the community.
Beth is offered early retirement from her place of employment when the economy takes a downturn, and she decides to relocate to Crystal Rock where she not only has relatives, but feels at home, having spent many happy hours there as a child. In her wake is her Autistic son, Kyle, who is an adult male with a preschooler's ability to handle life. Beth however, refuses to put her son into a care facility, even when it means passing up the opportunity of being able to have a marriage and a husband once again. Beth, Kyle and Zach meet under less than favourable conditions, but there is an instant connection made between them and Beth is amazed at Zach's acceptance of Kyle and his condition.
Zach is very sensitive about his scars and keeps them covered up, almost to the point of being obsessive about them. I would have thought his reaction a little over the top, but this reviewer's beautiful, athletic daughter had a serious melanoma that that to be surgically removed, leaving a hole the size of a tennis ball in her calf. Even when the weather is 110°F, she now wears thick leggings, never exposing her legs to view. I could therefore understand Zach's reaction, hiding his deformity from view, dreading the reaction and possible rejection of those who happened to see it. Fear of rejection is a dreadful tyrant in our emotional lives! Beth is made of sterner stuff and when confronted with Zach's scars, she shows him in no uncertain manner what she feels about his hiding himself from her.
